{"id":202,"date":"2020-02-18T22:14:16","date_gmt":"2020-02-18T21:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.cemea.org\/capemob\/?p=202"},"modified":"2020-02-18T22:14:17","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T21:14:17","slug":"les-francas-english-version","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.cemea.org\/capemob\/2020\/02\/18\/les-francas-english-version\/","title":{"rendered":"Les FRANCAS (english version)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <em>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration nationale des Francas<\/em> propose innovative\nsolutions in the domain of education and has lead significant collective\nmobilisation on issues of education since it was created in 1944.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The\nFrancas are recognised as:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A educator serving childhood on the local level<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 An organiser of collective educative recreation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A space for socialisation for all, between school and the family<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A framework for training on community living and responsibility<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u2022 A citizen, associative movement and a generator of solutions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u2022 An innovative partner to public authorities, the state and territorial collectivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Popular\nEducation federation<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Francas, a national, secular federation of structures\nand activities has an indivisible educative, social and cultural mission.<\/strong> The\nFrancas take action so that all children and adolescents have access to quality\nrecreation, with the goal of giving them access to active citizenship. They are\nunited around common values \u2013 <strong>humanism, liberty, equality, solidarity,\nsecularism, peace <\/strong>\u2013 which they bring to life each day through their\neducative action. Recognised as \u201cpublic utility\u201d \u2018(<em>Reconnue d\u2019utilit\u00e9 publique<\/em>), registered as a <strong>youth and Popular\nEducation association<\/strong>, registered as an <strong>educative association\ncomplementary to public education<\/strong>, the <em>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration\nnationale des Francas<\/em> take action, by rebuilding the\nfoundation of the Republican school system, to develop education holistically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A movement of\ncivil society actors<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Since 1944, the Francas have brought together men and women\nconcerned with the emancipation of children and adolescents, as trailblazers\nand often precursors. <\/strong>Several concepts born of the\nFrancas\u2019 reflections and actions have since been developed by the public\nauthorities, notably: <em>patronages la\u00efcs<\/em>\n(secular spaces for educative recreation), peri-curricular activities, <em>centres a\u00e9r\u00e9s<\/em> (activity centres), CLAE\n(school-associated recreation centres) and later recreation centres, local\neducative projects, and the citizenship of minors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An educative presence in the territories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Francas take local action<\/strong> in the\nfollowing domains: <strong>advice, accompaniment and evaluation <\/strong>for local\neducative dynamics and policies, territorial educative projects (PEDT), <strong>qualitative\nimprovement<\/strong>of educational\nprojects and activities during free time and in various educative spaces,\ndevelopment of peri- and extra-curricular <strong>educative recreation centres,\npedagogical productions, support<\/strong> for associations and their initiatives, <strong>training\nand qualification<\/strong> of educative actors (part-time and full-time\nfacilitators, local elected officials, association leadership, territorial\ncivil servants, teachers, etc.), <strong>direct management<\/strong>of structures and of local socio-educative activities,\norganisations of events and debates, etc.<strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A plethora of educative practices in response to social issues<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local organisers of educative\nrecreational activities for children and adolescents and the departmental\nassociations of the Francas implement diverse activities: outdoor,\nenvironmental and sustainable development activities (the <strong><em>centres A\u2019ERE<\/em> <\/strong>concept);\nmedia education (<strong><em>Exprime toile<\/em><\/strong> blog<em>, <\/em><strong>Francas radio stations<\/strong>); citizenship (<strong>\u201cTake action for your rights\u201d artistic\ncontests<\/strong>, <strong>philosophy with children<\/strong>);\nATEC (Temporary associations of child citizens); physical and sporting\nactivities; cultural and artistic activities (especially <strong>visual arts<\/strong> and heritage projects \u2013 <strong><em>C\u2019est mon Patrimoine<\/em><\/strong>);\nactivities for scientific and technical discovery (<strong><em>cyber r@llye scientifique <\/em><\/strong>(scientific\ncyber rally), <strong>model rockets<\/strong>, astronomy\n\u2013 <strong><em>Petite\nOurse<\/em><\/strong> (Ursa Minor);
