Since 1925, les PEP\nhave been in charge of children and neglected young people. Today, les PEP act\nfor the right and access for all to education, culture, health care, leisure,\nwork and social life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solidarity and la\u00efcit\u00e9\/secularism have\nbeen the basis of les PEP since the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les PEP have always been close to the French ministry of Education and we are also linked to other ministries such as the French ministry of health and the ministry of youth.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our main activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\nEducation: people with learning difficulties and early school leavers) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\nHolidays and leisure: we organize trips for children and adults and school\ntrips,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\nEarly childhood: nursery<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\nFamilies support<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\nSocial and Medico-Social Area: to help young people and adults with\ndisabilities (including people with mental physical sensory or other\ndisability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our association is managed by <strong>22\u00a0000 employees<\/strong>. Our operating income is about <strong>800 million euros<\/strong>. Each year, <strong>more than 1\u00a0300\u00a0000 children, adults and their families<\/strong> are welcomed by our association. Today our political project is aimed at developing an inclusive society.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is an inclusive society?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nan inclusive society, efforts are made to guarantee equal opportunities for all\nthe members of the society, no matter their status in social life. This way,\nthey can achieve their full potential in life and social development. An\ninclusive society enables full participation of every citizen of the society in\nall areas of life: political, economic, social, cultural\u2026, voices of people\nneed to be heard. It places the citizen at the heart of the decision-making\nprocess. According to PEP, all the people must have the same rights to access\neducation, culture, health care, leisure, work and social life. Finally, an\ninclusive society is aimed at reducing inequality, poverty and social exclusion\nshould step backwards. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are actually our actions for an inclusive society ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\ndefend the rights of children with disabilities to have an access to school: We\nhelp them through special needs teaching assistants. (AVS: auxiliaire de vie\nscolaire)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nmanage more than 800 social and medical structures which welcome people with\nany disability from children to old people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\ndefend the right for every one including people with disabilities to go on\nholidays and meet other people (people with no disability). In our holiday\ncenters, we organize special trips for those people and also trips for theirs\nfamilies to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nfight against illiteracy: we help people with education and social difficulties\nto get main skills to be active in social and professional life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nalso support teenagers facing problems through a call center which leads them\nto professionals from health and social centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nhelp new comers (allophones) to learn French and adapt to life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"post-excerpt\">Acting for an inclusive and supportive society Who are we?
