{"id":184,"date":"2020-02-18T21:47:32","date_gmt":"2020-02-18T20:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.cemea.org\/capemob\/?p=184"},"modified":"2020-02-18T21:47:33","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T20:47:33","slug":"eclaireuses-et-eclaireurs-de-france-english-version","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.cemea.org\/capemob\/2020\/02\/18\/eclaireuses-et-eclaireurs-de-france-english-version\/","title":{"rendered":"Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs de France (english version)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We are\nthe secular Scouts of the French Scouting Federation composed of 6\nassociations. <\/li><li>The EEDF\nassociation is recognised as being of public utility: our approach is\ncomplementary to the actions of the Ministry of Education and Youth.<\/li><li>The EEDF\nassociation is a popular education movement that practises non-formal\neducation.<\/li><li>The\nEEDFs are members of several networks and collectives, including the\n\u00ab&nbsp;Collectif des Associations Partenaires de l&rsquo;Ecole&nbsp;\u00bb. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Aware of the challenges facing\nall societies (climate change, migration, inequality, etc.) the\n\u00ab&nbsp;Eclaireuses Eclaireurs de France&nbsp;\u00bb (EEDF) are committed to\nsolidarity projects, both in France and abroad. These projects are part of the\naction of a movement which brings together more than 50 million young people\nthroughout the world: International Scouting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scoutism is an educative movement based on volunteerism, commitment and education through action. Its aim is to form free, responsible, supportive and committed citizens through the promotion of life in small groups, where everyone has a role to play. Scouting is present in a majority of countries: there are Scouts of all ages and of all spiritualities and faiths. In France, each religious movement has its own Scouting movement, and the EEDFs have opted for secularism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to their common\nvalues, all Scout Associations share the same educational method, the\n\u00ab\u00a0Scout Method\u00a0\u00bb, which is based on 8 pillars: &#8211; education through\naction &#8211; personal progression &#8211; life in nature &#8211; the team system &#8211; adult\nsupport &#8211; the symbolic framework &#8211; the Scout Promise and Law (the symbolic) &#8211;\ninvolvement in communities (pillar added in 2017)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gathered in two world organizations,\nthe World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World\nOrganization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), we make our voice heard at major\ninternational institutions such as the United Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The commitments of\nthe Eclaireuses \u00c9claireurs de France (5 values&nbsp;):&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Affirming the fundamental respect of human in\nhis\/her diversity, fighting against all forms of discrimination and\nintolerance, is the choice of secularism.<\/li><li>Educating one another, educating girls and boys\ntogether, is the affirmation of Co-education.<\/li><li>Allowing everyone to participate in common\nprojects, to take responsibilities and to live citizenship, is the wish to be a\nschool of Democracy.<\/li><li>To be open to the world and to others, to\ndevelop a state of mind of exchange, listening and sharing, is to promote\nopenness and solidarity.<\/li><li>Learning to know and understand the world,\nacting to protect and respect balance and harmony, this is our commitment to\nthe environment.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Some figures in 2020: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>16,000 members<\/li><li>15 regions<\/li><li>142 local business structures<\/li><li>20 EEDF centres including 5 permanent national\ncentres<\/li><li>3 Holiday Services (offering holidays adapted to\ndisabled children and adults)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activities of the\n\u00ab&nbsp;\u00c9cl\u00e9s&nbsp;\u00bb <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer leisure activities for\nchildren and young people through scouting activities on weekends and during\nschool holidays. A year-long pedagogical project, based on the EEDF&rsquo;s\neducational project, links these different encounters. Structured by the\neducational intentions and the skills of the volunteer management team, this\nyear project offers a programme adapted to the group of children or young\npeople: to their age, their needs and their abilities. The project takes into\naccount the local context in which it is carried out. The activities are an\nopportunity to experience a daily life based on living together. The activities\ntake place mostly in the open air: sleeping in tents, cooking for the group,\nlearning how to control fire, build their own facilities and find their way\naround, but also taking part in big games, acting in local life or sharing\ntheir adventures with others by integrating new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EEDFs have an international charter based on 3 axes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Discovering\nothers, discovering oneself and getting to know oneself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; To live and make\nthe intercultural experience come alive <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Building together: partnership<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our educational proposals are structured around 5 main axes,\nimaged by migratory birds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>European citizenship &#8211; \u00ab\u00a0Pinson\u00a0\u00bb\nproject: <\/strong>Building Euro-citizens who are aware of the social, economic and\nenvironmental problems of the continent in which they live and wish to\ncontribute to solving them.<\/li><li><strong>International\nSolidarity- \u00ab Jabiru<\/strong> \u00bb<strong> project<\/strong> : Develop bonds of solidarity between\nyoung people from different countries and discover the inequalities and\nchallenges of global development during a cooperation project.<\/li><li><strong>Welcome- \u00a0\u00bb Fauvette \u00a0\u00bb project:<\/strong>\nWelcoming a partner group on its camp and making them discover their region,\nlocal practices and our values, building a project together in a spirit of\nreciprocity.<\/li><li><strong>International\nEvents&nbsp;: \u00ab Qu\u00e9l\u00e9a<\/strong> \u00bb <strong>project<\/strong>&nbsp;\n: take part in a Scout meeting such as a Jamboree, Roverway, Moot or go\nto one of the international centres and develop brotherhood<\/li><li><strong>Volunteering\n&#8211; \u00ab Tantale \u00bb project<\/strong> : Engage as an individual in a long-term project at the\nservice of our international partners, make a contribution and gain skills.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>French-English\nGlossary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scoutisme\/Scouting et\nGuidisme\/Guiding : these are two terms that refer to the same reality.\nOriginally, the \u00ab\u00a0scout\u00a0\u00bb is a boy and the \u00ab\u00a0guide\u00a0\u00bb is a girl,\nbut they practice the same activities, according to the same method and with\nthe same values. In French, over time, several translations of\n\u00ab\u00a0scout\u00a0\u00bb have been given: \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9claireur\u00a0\u00bb is one of the possible\ntranslations, with its female equivalent \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9claireuses\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AMGE\/WAGGGS : Association\nMondiale des Guides et Eclaireuses \/ World Association of Girl Guides and Girl\nScouts. All the girls and women at&nbsp; EEDF,\nare members of its. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OMMS\/WOSM : Organisation Mondiale\ndu Mouvement Scout, en anglais World Organisation of the Scout Movement.
